TJ Griffith Achieves MAI Designation
Chicago, IL – Dec. 17, 2013 – Thomas J. (TJ) Griffith, vice president and head of Principle Valuation’s seniors housing division, has achieved the Designated Member (MAI) status by the Appraisal Institute, a global organization of real estate appraisers.
According to the Appraisal Institute, achieving MAI status demonstrates that a person has gone above and beyond the education and experience needed for state certification. It also demonstrates a commitment to advanced education, higher ethical requirements and elevated expectations for the appraisal profession as a whole”

Principle Valuation’s seniors housing clients include financial institutions and owners and operators of skilled nursing facilities, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and independent living facilities. Mr. Griffith has been in the appraisal industry for more than a decade. Prior to joining Principle Valuation, he worked at Wellspring Valuation, which was subsequently purchased by Huron Consulting Group.
In addition to his MAI, Mr. Griffith has a BA in real estate and business administration from Arizona State University. He is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, and is also a licensed real estate broker. Mr. Griffith is a member of the Chicago Real Estate Council.
